Hello Jacques, thanks for reaching out. With the SwingKing Bolt-On Swing Tongue Kit # TD28FR, you really should not see much noticeable play once everything is installed and torqued correctly. It is designed to fit a 3" wide tongue, so as long as your trailer tongue measures a true 3" and the hardware is tightened to spec, the connection should feel solid. A very slight amount of movement at the jack when lifting can sometimes be normal due to flex in the tongue itself, but the hinge assembly should not feel loose.
The key areas to check are where the unit clamps to the tongue and the hinge pin area. Make sure the bolts are torqued evenly and recheck them after the first few uses, since hardware can settle. Also confirm there is no gap between the mounting brackets and the tongue, and that the hinge pin and latch mechanism are fully seated and secured.
Is there play where it bolts to the tongue? Or at the hinge?

I wish I could help. I was sold a unit that had been used and returned, it was bent and scratched. They did offer to let me ship it back at my expense though.

It seems to be at the hinge. Once it stops raining here I will get a video of it the movement. Then recheck all the torque specs.
