Can Furrion Chill HE RV AC Unit Install with Other AC Unit that Uses Older Refrigerant

Question:

Hello, I currently have a furrion Chill HE 15K RV Roof AC with R410A refrigerant. I am looking to add a second AC unit to my 5th wheel and was wondering if it was ok if the second unit has R22 refrigerant? I want to add a Furrion 13500 BTU unit.

Hey Michael, you can add a Furrion Chill HE system like the part # FR55TD to your RV but since it is on the newer refrigerant you would need a kit that includes a replacement for everything since no parts of the older style setups are compatible with the new refrigerant styles including the thermostats. So with this kit installed it would need it's own thermostat (included) separate from the one you have now. The part # FR55TD does come with absolutely everything though so with just this part number you'd be covered.
