Hello - will this bracket fit inverted on a Yakima HD bar. I would remove the end cap. Thanks

Hey, Chris!

Yes, the ARB Universal Awning Bracket # ARB57FR can be installed upright or inverted and will work with your Yakima HD bars. Removing the end cap would give you more space for the mounting bracket to hang where it needs to.

The ARB brackets don’t include mounting hardware. You can use the Yakima Replacement T-Bolt Kit # Y8880184 to secure them to the HD bars.

They will definitely work on the underside of the bar. I haul paddleboards on the top side and the awning mounted to the underside.

@GwendolynY We live close to Eagle Creek Reservoir in Indianapolis,IN. Over the summer we try to get out once a week. We also travel with our boards. A few years ago we paddled the Wilton Loop in Ft. Lauderdale. It's a 7 mile waterway that meanders through Wilton Manors. It was an awesome day! Our boards are from Three Brothers Boards in Daytona Beach. Beautiful boards that are amazing to paddle. We haul them with a Yakima Overhaul HD rack on a GMC Canyon. Great setup!
