As you review the rack systems you will notice that their weight ratings vary considerably depending on the bar type. The great-value option from Thule, their square bar system, offers a 165-lb capacity, but the Rhino-Rack system with heavy-duty bars can handle up to 220-lbs; this rack is made of parts # RB1650 and # RRRL150GMC-2. There is also a 3-bar option that carries the same overall weight rating.
