Recommended Bearing Kit for a Dexter 4,400 lbs Axle

Updated 03/12/2026 | Published 03/04/2026

Question:

I have a 2025 Airstream 33 FBT with Dexter NevRLube torsion 4400 lb axels. I am going on a trip to Alaska and wanted to get a bearing kit for my RV. Does this fit the Nev R lube 4400 lb axel?

Yes, it is Doug! The Dexter Bearing Kit for 4.4K Axles item # DX86ER is exactly what you'll need for your Dexter Nev R lube 4,400 lbs axles. This kit includes all the bearings, races, seal, tang washer, and cotter pin you would need. The kit is sold per hub.

How long are you staying up in Alaska?

@DougD You're welcome! I hope you have a great trip and don't need to use those spare bearings! If you have any additional questions, don't hesitate to reach out.

Make sure you get the axle information off of the axle itself, not the trailer manual. I made the mistake of reading the trailer manual (Grand Design) and it said I have the Dexter 4.4K axle. I ordered the parts accordingly. Received product and found that the outer bearing did not fit on the spindle (too large), only the inner bearing. I went underneath and looked at the tag on the axle and it said I have Lippert 4.4K axles, which are different from Dexter. Etrailer did not have the bearing for the Lippert, but was most accommodating in handling my return. I like doing business with this company.
