Question:

I have a 2024 GMC Sierra 1500 with a multi-fold tailgate. I believe I need a 2” shank, 2” and 1-7/8” balls , smallest available and l believe I need the tapered part near the shank for the multiplex tailgate / cameras.

Hey Louis, thanks for the information! There's two options for ball mounts that are going to match your needs and be compatible with the GM MultiPro tailgate. They have a 1-7/8", 2", and 2-5/16" balls and a 10,000 lbs towing capacity. The difference between the two is going to be the amount of drop they provide. There's no MultiPro tailgate compatible ball mounts that only have a 1-7/8" and 2" hitch ball.

The B&W Tow & Stow 3-Ball Mount item # BW64FR has 2.5" drop, which means your coupler will sit 2.5" below the top of your hitch receiver when you're hooked up.

The B&W Tow & Stow 3-Ball Mount item # BW49FR is what I recommend getting. It's got a 4.5" drop and is adjustable so you can go up if needed.

These ball mounts will allow you to fully lower your tailgate so long as they're in the stowed position like the pictures below.

What kind of trailer are you pulling and do you know how high the coupler is off the ground?
