Question:
I do not understand how a ping rate of 2X per day is relevant in the event the trailer is moved in an unauthorized manner. At that rate, a stolen trailer could be more than 600 miles away before its location could be know. That could put it in a different state or outside my local law enforcement jurisdiction.

Hey James. The amount of pings and frequency of them can be adjusted in the app for the PingMaster 5000 Wireless Trailer GPS Tracker with WiFi Backup item # PM74FR. In the theft detection mode it automatically switches to 5–10 minute pings when it detects movement. Your trailer won't get too far!
