Hey Keegan, welcome back! We've got quite a few options to swap your pin box over to a gooseneck connection like the Gen-Y item # GY48GR you were looking at. What I'll need to determine the correct one is the information on the sticker attached to your Cougar's pin box. I attached a picture below of what one typically looks like. Each trailer has an individual sticker that identifies the bolt pattern on your pin box.

The sticker should say date of manufacture, weight capacity, and have some form of RPO, LCI, or serial number on it. If you could email me a picture of it or carefully put all that information where it says Add Comment, I can find the right gooseneck pin box for you.

I’ve been extremely satisfied with the Gen-Y goose neck hitch! Easy to hook up and the ride is comfortable.

I have towed many different sized 5th wheel. Some that are solid king pin and sone that have dampening. When I upgraded mine to a gen-y, I had a solid king pin box. It eliminated some of the chucking and it does ride smoother. It does take up less room in the bed but it is harder to connect. Especially if you can’t back strait back.
