Question:

I’m upgrading from a 45A converter in my Keystone single axle trailer to lithium. Should I jump to 55A or go all the way to 100A?

Hello Eric, in a single-axle Keystone with 30-amp shore power, jumping from 45A to the # WF38FR 55A converter is usually a nice ugprade. It gives you stronger charging without introducing the wiring and AC circuit considerations that come with a 100-amp converter (100-amp requires 20A instead of 15A electrical outlets, breakers, wiring etc.).

The # WF56FR 100A is excellent - especially for big lithium banks - but it really shines in larger RVs where you’re trying to push a lot of current quickly. And as I mentioned earlier, it requires a 20A circuit, so you'd need to check your breaker box to see if it would require upgrading that circuit.

What is your battery setup right now, and what is your amp rating on the electrical outlets coming from the power center? With this info I'll be able to help guide you on if the 55a or 100a is the better choice. You can for sure just use the 55a without modification though if you want to go the easiest route.
