Hey Bruce, great question. The MouseBlocker 1000x Electronic Rodent Deterrent # MB54FR is designed to be safe for cats and dogs. The device does emit a high frequency sound and the consensus is that most pets are unbothered by the sound. That said, some pets are more sensitive to the sound than others. It is recommended to monitor your cats behavior when you first install the blocker. If they seem more distressed or nervous than usual, you should discontinue use.
