Can Coleman Mach 3 Tie Into Dometic Thermostat on 2022 Keystone Premier 29BHPR
Updated 02/18/2026 | Published 02/12/2026 >
Question:
I have a 2022 Keystone Premier 29BHPR which is prewired for a second A/C unit. It has a single zone Dometic thermostat. I am considering installing a Coleman Mach 3. Is there an adapter kit which will allow this unit to work with my thermostat? Thank you

Hey Michael! I'm assuming that Dometic unit is original to your 2022 Premier. Based on the year that is going to be an R410A unit. If you're adding a Coleman-Mach Signature Mach 3 like # CM23RR it will be a new R32 unit following the 2025 EPA regulations.
R32 is not compatible with R410A parts so the Dometic thermostat will not be compatible with the new AC unit and there is no way to adapt it. You will need to install the full system, with the thermostat, and run them separately unless you can find an aftermarket thermostat that can run both.
Any big trips coming up this spring once you add the new AC?

Thank you for your response. I did not know that a unit with a different type of refrigerant would necessitate the need for a different thermostat. That's unfortunate. This is a second AC so, it not worth it to me to do the full system, with thermostat, as I would also have to replace the primary GE AC as well. (Which I was also mistaken, the thermostat is GE.) I guess I'm stuck with getting a GE unit (ARC15) then. Oh well... No big trips planned, yet. I pretty much just stay in the state (Ohio) and hit the state parks. Thanks again.
