Does Hydrastar Vented Marine Electric Over Hydraulic Actuator Work with GM OEM Brake Controller
Updated 02/12/2026 | Published 02/10/2026 >
Question:
Hello- I wanted to confirm that the product below will interface with my 2019 Chevrolet Silverado 3500 OEM brake controller? All the other Hydrastar actuators that I have used in the past required a seperate brake controller that was not progressive. Thanks for your help. Hey James, The Hydrastar Vented Marine Electric Over Hydraulic Actuator for Disc Brakes # HS481-8067 does work with the integrated brake controller of your 2019 Silverado as-is and does not require any additional adapter as this comes with one designed to work with your GM controller. Is this for a boat trailer?

Hey Jameson, Thanks for the reply. Yes this is for a boat trailer with disc brakes. I am converting from surge brakes to EOH system . I’ve replaced the coupler and now will install the hydrastar actuator. Glad to see the OEM brake controller will work. In the past I’ve always needed to install aftermarket brake controllers with the hydrastar system due to the fact that most OEM brake controllers are progressive and the previous models of hydrastar actuators never worked with progressive brake controllers.
