Question:
Trying to decide if need TST tire repeater/booster on new travel trailer. My old Epro had the system so used to how it works and want one for new Brinkley. Originally said it came with one and then later they said just need the TsT monitor so got one only to discover it had nothing. So now looking at the tire caps and trying to determine regular ones or pass through type. Then do need the signal booster. Total length camper is 27’ attached to Ram 2500. Any advice appreciate Thanks Bruce

Hi Bruce; all of their systems come with the Signal Booster / Repeater # TST-507-R and they recommend installing it. Other TPMS systems do the same thing. I would definitely add the signal booster, no point in having the system if it doesn't work properly.
As far as the sensors go, what did you have on your E-Pro? If you had the regular cap sensors and didn't mind removing them to air up your tires you can use the # TST-507-RV-S4. If you like to fill up your tires frequently and don't want to have to remove the sensors you can use the Flow Through Tire Sensors # TST-507-FT-S2. Keep in mind, the flow through require metal valve stems so you may have to replace those on your wheels.

We have a 2009 Monaco Signature that tows a GMC Yukon. 2 Things to note 1. We have there inside the tire sensors that mount indoor the tire on the rims with a SS band. Why, because I could not understand how valve stem sensor could accurately read the tire temperature and with the rims on the 2025 Yukon. the valve stem mounted sensors stick out and we especially be prone to damage. and 2. We needed 2 signal Boosters one for each side at the rear of the motorhome, to consistently report the towed vehicle tire parameters. The system works great but I at first found the sequentially changing readings for each tire to be distracting but I have got used to it. Over all, a great system when configured this way.

I have a 2022 Chevy 3500 dually pulling a 42’ east to west 5th wheel. I have 5 valve stem sensors including the spare under the rear of the camper. The TPS wouldn’t work as I liked until in installed the repeater. Mounted in the front compartment under the 5th wheel and everything work flawlessly now. Extremely happy with the system.

After I had issues with an older set of sensors mounted on the valve stems, I upgraded to the internal sensors and added the booster. My TST system originally came with the booster but it didn’t seem to require it when I first installed the sensors which I managed to misplace after several years. As the sensors got older and I replaced the batteries a couple of times, the dash unit was having trouble hearing all the sensors reliably, particularly the rear axle tires. Last fall it got to the point that it didn’t detect the passenger side rear tire that had a slow leak. My camper doesn’t have the batteries on the tongue, only 3 LP gas cans so the recommended location next to the batteries wasn’t possible. I mounted it low on the frame behind the tanks and it seems to work fine there. To power the booster, I hooked the power it to the hot wire going to the trailer jack which is unpowered when the batteries are disconnected (not all campers have this feature). The dash display showed that it detected the booster and all the sensors read almost immediately after we started moving. The old sensors detected 2 tire blowouts and the first time it saved the trailer, second time we weren’t so lucky as the blowout caused additional damage that couldn’t be repaired. The performance of the new system with the booster seems to be reading and updating more often than the old configuration. From a peace of mind perspective, I highly recommend the booster.

On our original 34' Class A motor home I didn't use the repeater and had no issues with the 6 transmitters on the coach and the 4 towing (2 tow dolly, 4 rear axle on tow vehicle) with only occasional dropouts on the 2 rear car sensors (all are valve stem transmitters). When we purchased a new 38' coach, I waned to be sure to get the towed sensors always active so purchased the repeater and wired it into the electrical bay 12V at the rear of the coach so it's out of the elements and not prone to theft. When the 12V is turned off at the coach the repeater is also off, so no drain on the battery when stored. Haven't had any issues with dropouts. The repeater is about 20' from the rear axle of the car. Only time there's an issue is when the battery on the transmitter/sensor is very low and needs to be changed anyway.

I have an E Pro and a Canyon. I use the booster and it works flawlessly. The transmitters are in the tires on the inside of the rim.I would get it if I were you, you won't regret it. Mounted mine on the tongue, have another on my boat trailer for which I purchased the caps. You'll need it there too.
