Hey Marvin, welcome back. Since your 2016 Ram 3500 has the factory puck system, I recommend the Curt Pop-In Ball item # C60627. This 2-5/16" 38,000 lbs capacity gooseneck ball is going to drop right down into the center hole of your puck system. It uses a built-in ball-bearing system that holds the ball in place. The overall height of the Curt Pop-In Ball is 7-7/8" and the installed height is 5-1/8".

This hitch ball is also available with the safety chain loops and a storage case. It is the Curt Ball and Safety Chain Loop Kit item # C38CR. The safety chain loops will attach to either the front or rear pucks.

If your Ram has the shorter bed length and you need some additional turning clearance, we also have the Gen-Y Hitch Gooseneck Trailer Hitch for Dodge Ram OEM Puck Systems item # GY83XR. This system moves the gooseneck ball 5" back towards your tailgate.

How long is your Ram's truck bed?

Bed length 6 1/2’ I’ll check under the truck and see if it has a place for a goose neck ball, bed is solid on top, will need to cut a hole for ball .

Jerred: have looked under my truck, it has a huge reenforced member directly over the axle, however no socket for a goose neck ball is part of that assembly. Will need a spider to install in the puck mounts, and a plate for a goose ball . Suggestions please,??

@MarvinB That sounds like one of the Reese Elite Series Underbed Rail Kits. They're similar to factory puck systems but don't have the gooseneck ball. The puck pattern on those matches the Ford puck system. If this is indeed what you have in your Ram 3500, you'll need the Reese Elite Series Above-Bed Gooseneck Trailer Hitch item # RP30845. An easy way to confirm you have one of the older Reese Elite Series is to measure the distance between the pucks. From the center to the center of the left and right pucks should be 30". Measured from the top left puck to the bottom left puck should be 13" center to center.
