Question:

Hello I have a 2005 Toyota sequoia 4.7 V8 limited with rear air suspension is extremely bouncy while driving sometimes guess I have an air leak somewhere. Havent taken it nowhere to get checked was purchased like that not to long ago . My question is if I do get you guys sumosprings I wont need to worry about my sock air suspension or do I still have to get that fixed. Also wanted to know if you guys sell anything that eliminates my air suspension to regular shocks.

Hey Josue, congrats on your new SUV. The SumoSprings Solo Custom Helper Springs item # SS68DR are going to help somewhat with that bouncing feeling but I recommend getting your rear suspension looked at. If your bouncing around during daily driving that's a bigger issue.

The SumoSprings item # SS68DR are designed to support the rear suspension when you're towing a trailer or putting a heavy load in the rear of your Sequoia. When installed there's supposed to be 1" of space between your axle and the spring.

We do not have any replacement shocks.

Do you tow a trailer or carry a bunch of weight in the back of your Sequoia? Do you notice the bouncing more when your gas tank is almost empty?

You can add this information, along with any other questions you have, where it says Reply to Jerred H.

Hi, I have Sumo springs on my motorhome and my toyota 4runner. We tow a 19' trailer and we couldnt be happier with the supension travel when the weight is on the axel. Our motorhome is 32 ft 18000 lb gas Thor hurricane. Ws had Sumo Springs installed Front and Rear. The Difference is night and Day. The body roll is gone and when a semi Truck comes buy at Hwy speed the is no Wind disturbance. The Motorhome handles like a dream. It use to be a White knuckle driving experience and i was wore out after driving 200 miles. Now I look forward to driving and feel great when we get to our destination. I promise you will not be dissapointed, this has been the best upgrade that we have ever done.

I drive a 2022 4runner and tow an 18' camper (about 3,000 #'s). I installed the Sumo springs in the back. They have cut down on bounciness when unloaded and the truck drives better, more controlled. You do feel bumps on the road a bit more, but nothing that is bothersome. Towing with the Sumo Springs is great: they keep the rear of the vehicle from sagging excessively and help carry the load without truck sway. Installation was very quick and easy. I did not remove the tires, just lifted the truck body off of the suspension a bit to make the installation easier. This was a fairly inexpensive improvement to this vehicle.

I bought the Sumo Springs for 2006 sequoia to prevent bottom out and to ensure even ride when towing my trailer. They work great for that application and I couldn’t be happier with the performance . I have standard OEM struts not air shocks Thank You eTrailer team for the expert recommendation
