Question:
I have an Escape 2012 fwd hybrid automatic, can it be flat towed? Can I tow it using a tow dolly with front wheels on the dolly? If I elect to flat tow, can I use a Roadmaster 520, Falcon 2 tow bar? I am not much of a mechanic, if I get a base plate kit, will I have to drill any holes or adjust other install items?

Hey Mike, thanks for the information. A 2012 Ford Escape Hybrid FWD automatic can indeed be towed on a dolly or flat towed with a Falcon 2 Tow Bar item # RM-520.
You will have to drill to install a baseplate like the Roadmaster Direct-Connect Base Plate Kit item # 4414-3 that fits your Focus and works with the Falcon 2 item # RM-520. I have linked the installation instructions below so you can see how involved the setup process is.
To find a local installer, you'll want to go to the product page of the Roadmaster item # 4414-3 you were looking at and scroll down below the pics on the left side you'll see a link that says, Locate installers near me. Go ahead and click on it and it will take you to a page where you'll be able to enter your zip code. Once you do this you'll be connected to our network of reputable installers in your area.
Here are the rest of the parts you'll need to flat tow your 2012 Ford Escape Hybrid:
Wiring Harness - Roadmaster 4-Diode Universal Wiring Kit for Towed Vehicles - item # RM-15267
Supplemental Braking System - Curt RVi Series Shadow 2 Flat Tow Brake System item # RVI94FR for a permanent install or the Curt RVi Series 4 Portable Flat Tow Brake System item # RVI44FR for a portable system.
High Low Adapter - The tow bar needs to be within 3" of level. If you measure the height of the inside top of the hitch receiver tube on your RV, and the height difference is more than 3 inches above/below the base plate tab height, you'll need a high/low adapter. I have linked a FAQ article that explains all this in more detail along with our selection of adapters.
What kind of motorhome do you have?

Hey Mike, how did things go with flat towing your Escape using the Falcon 2 tow bar and base plate kit? Were you able to get the drilling done or find a local installer through the link Jerred mentioned? Your update could make it easier for others setting up a similar tow setup.
