Question:
So it looks like I would still have to use a locking jack stand for safety, correct? Or does the Tallboy bottle jack have a locking feature?

Hey Bennett! The Power Mountain Tallboy Off-Road Bottle Jack # PM34FR does not have a locking feature. The jack will work well for short term use, and is geared towards off-roading applications. If you plan on lifting a vehicle for an extended period of time for extensive work you will want to use jack stands # PTW41021 for safety.

The Tall Boy Bottle jack does not have a locking feature, as it is meant primarily for jacking up the vehicle in an emergency (flat tire...) It is built like a jack stand however, with a wide base to support lifting items high above the ground. I bought one to use with a new Travel Trailer that is too high for a normal bottle jack. I do however, hope I never have to use it!

The jack is a simple bottle jack with well designed adapters for height adjustment. I used to haul around a large floor jack when towing. This takes up much less space is much more versatile and works great for trailers. I stored it in the trailer, but then I also realized that it worked great for my factory lifted Chevy 2500 HD ZR2. So I keep it in my truck as the truck may not always have the trailer attached. I highly recommend this for HD trucks and a variety of trailers. As for the jack having a lock out device, it does not and jack stands would be needed for safety as with any portable style jack.
