The Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class I - 1-1/4" # C11435 for your 2020 Mazda MX-5 Miata weighs just over 22 pounds (22.16 pounds to be exact). I wouldn't think that will mess with the balance or handling at all once installed.

What are you wanting to use this hitch for? Seems like most people use it for bike racks, but I'm always curious when I see hitches being put on Miatas.

Thank you for the information. I was planning to also possibly use it to pull a utility trailer, Harbor Freight type I was also trying to compare this to a different hitch (hard dog) which is advertised as being 11 lbs

@Ilya I've never heard of them, but I checked it out and it looks pretty cool! Having the removeable receiver is definitely a nice feature that we can't compete with. I would be a little leery about that 11 pounds though. I found one that fits your generation Miata on eBay that said it was 26 pounds, which looks like it makes more sense. Not saying what you found was wrong, but that looks like a good amount of steel that makes up the hitch. I would double check with whoever is selling it to make sure before you go with it. Just in case.
