Can Thetford Toilets # TH35SE and the # TH49FR Replace Each Other
Updated 12/29/2025 | Published 12/02/2025 >
Question:
I have a 2021 coachman leprechaun. The thetford is 42070 model. We have a weird backplate so Im concerned with the rough in measurement. Your recommended like for like toilet is the TH35SE or 42053. However, those are low profile and we would like the exact replacement. So you recommend TH49FR? It has the same rough in as TH35SE but stands higher.

Hey Chasity, both the part # TH35SE and the # TH49FR have the same rough in dimensions so either really should work. I am not sure what you mean by the backplate and I can't see any reason it wouldn't work in the picture you sent.

Hey Chasity, how did things go with the Thetford toilet and that backplate you mentioned? It’d be great to know if the rough-in lined up as expected. Your update could make it easier for the next person with the same setup.
