Can TPMS System Be Used Without The Booster?
Updated 12/29/2025 | Published 11/28/2025 >
Question:
HI, Im asking about the TPMS-APP-4 4 sensors. How far does the system transmit without the booster? Do you have a SMART TPMS package without a booster and bluetooth receiver since my tires to cab distance may not justify the booster and Im using an I-Phone? Thanks.

Hello Gary, thanks for reaching out. The range of the TPMS transmitter without the booster is like 20'- 40' but that is unobstructed distance. The body of the car or anything between the transmitter and the sensors will reduce this range. Because of this, the booster is a requirement.
We actually get this question about the boosters a lot. According to the folks at Tireminder, the booster must be used in order to ensure a solid, uninterrupted signal. They include the booster in all of their kits, so it must be used, even on shorter vehicles. Plus the booster is super easy to install.
The # TPMS-APP-4 kit you mentioned is Bluetooth compatible and contains the booster, so that is definitely what I recommend.
What kind of vehicle are you using it on?
