Air Bags for 2015 Coachmen Prism on Mercedes-Benz Sprinter 3500 Chassis

Updated 12/08/2025 | Published 11/25/2025

Question:

My 2015 MB Spinter 3500 dually chassis is a little squatty. Considering these airbag to replace the sumo springs I installed Many years ago. My load weight is pretty consistent, so I expect I’ll probably set and forget for the most part so no need to complicate the install with a compressor. I can Add later if desired. Anything else I should Consider?

Hey Rod! The Pacbrake Alpha XD Air Bag Suspension Kit # PB79RV will work but I would actually consider getting the # PB89RV instead. You mentioned set and forget, so the internal jounce bumpers on these air bags are good to have. If you end up with some kind of leak, or if cold weather runs them down a bit, you will still get support from the jounce bumpers. That also helps to protect the air bags and brackets.

An air compressor like the # AL25980EZ can definitely be added later if you decide you want one. I would consider at least carrying a small portable compressor like # NOC74GR or # NOC64GR so you have it if you need it. You might already have something like this for your tires since you're traveling around in your motorhome.

Any big trips coming up?

Hey Rod, how did things go with the Pacbrake Alpha XD Pro air bags on your Sprinter? Did the internal jounce bumpers give you the steady support you were hoping for? Your feedback could really help others looking to upgrade from Sumo Springs.
