Recommended Brake Controller and Custom Fit Harness for a 2026 Ram 1500

Question:

I have a 2026 Ram 1500 Bighorn without the factory brake controller. I know you can get the Mopar kit for 300 bucks and I have the software to enable it, but this is cheaper. This one says it comes with the factory harness. The OEM module has 2 wire harness plugs under the dash that would plug into the module and this has only one. I am assuming it only needs one of the plugs for this to work and it truly is plug and play minus the power connection. Just want to make sure before I execute on the purchase. Thanks!

Hey Travis, congrats on the new truck. The Redarc Tow-Pro Liberty Brake Controller w/ Custom Harness item # RED87CR is exactly what you need for your 2026 Ram 1500. You are correct you will only need one of those plugs for the wiring harness that comes with this kit. I've attached a picture that shows you which one. It will supply all the necessary power and send the brake signals to your truck's 7-way.

Hey Travis, how did things go with the Redarc Tow-Pro Liberty brake controller on your Ram 1500? Did the single harness connection work smoothly with your setup? Your update could make it easier for others wiring the same controller.
