How Heavy Are Thomas Payne Rest Easy Loveseats? Is It Easy To Move It Into A 5th Wheel RV?

Question:

How heavy is the Rest Easy loveseat to move into a fifth wheel? I’m 70 and will probably be helping my son install it.

Ron, you’ll be fine with two people. Each Thomas Payne Rest Easy Trifold Loveseat - whether it’s the Dellmead # TP49KR, Driftwood # TP69KR, or McCoy # TP79KR - weighs around 153 pounds, and it ships in two manageable sections (the base and the back), so you’re never wrestling the full weight at once. Just lay down a blanket or cardboard over your RV thresholds to protect the finish as you slide it in.

Are you swapping out a pair of recliners or an older hide-a-bed, Ron?

Thanks Andrew. My son and I got it in last weekend, heavier than expected but doable. Took both of us to get it through the door!

@Ron Nice work, Ron - those Rest Easy frames are solid, so you definitely earned it. The two-section design makes it possible without killing your back, but it’s still a good 150-pound lift if you're moving the assembled recliner! I usually tell folks the hardest part is maneuvering the bulky pieces through the RV doorway. How’d it end up fitting in your fifth wheel - plenty of room to fold out the bed?
