Hi, I have a Tepui Rooftop Tent and am trying to figure out if it is compatible with my 2014 Toyota Rav4 XLE. The manual states that the load should not exceed 101.9 lb, which I believe is the dynamic load. The tent weighs about 100lbs, but with my wife and I at weigh about 380lb together. So Im wondering if there is a set of aftermarket cross bars that could accommodate us plus the weight of the tent, or 480lbs. Thank you!

Hi Dan; the owner's manual and listed roof rack capacities are almost always the dynamic capacity. Is that the listed capacity for the roof itself or for the factory roof rack? A tent like the Thule Tepui # TH37HJ requires a minimum load capacity of 165 lbs for your roof and roof rack.
Assuming that is the factory roof rack, and not the actual roof capacity, you could use the Rhino-Rack Sportz Roof Rack for Raised Rails # RR37UG. This has the required 165 lb capacity and fits on factory raised rails. If you have a naked roof and need a clamp on roof rack you will not be able to use the tent.
