Can I Upgrade 5th Wheel On Keystone To A Cushioned Gooseneck Hitch ? Lippert 1116
Published 10/29/2025 >
Question:
We’re towing a Keystone which spec sheet says has a Lippert 1116 pin box rated ~12K. Could we go straight to a MR77MV gooseneck adapter now?

Tom - you can absolutely install the MORryde GooseTech # MR77MV now if your Keystone's pin-box is the Lippert 1116 and your trailer GTW falls into the 11,500-14,000 lb range. Installing this gives you the gooseneck conversion benefits - more bed space, improved articulation, likely better ride. If you anticipate upgrading the trailer in future and increasing the GTW, you’ll want to verify that MR77MV still suits the higher spec - it’s intended for the 1116 pattern in that lower/mid class.
Which truck are you planning to use? Does it already have a gooseneck ball?
