I have a 2019 Forest River Cedar Creek 38FL, which lists the Lippert 1621 box 14-18k GTW. Would the MORryde MR97MV work

Alan - yes, the MORryde GooseTech # MR97MV is designed precisely for trailers using the Lippert 1621 pin box in the 14-18,000 lb GTW range. Good call verifying ahead of time.

For installation you’ll want to check that the existing pin-box bolt-pattern, king-pin dimensions, and frame mounting clearances match what this MORryde 1621 pin box replacement. Check out the attached helpful article that covers dimensions and bolt patterns for all of the popular pin boxes.

Want help with a compatible gooseneck hitch recommendation too? Or do you already have one, Alan?

Thanks, Andrew. We’re running a 2020 Ford F-350 long bed with the factory gooseneck ball setup. Do you think I’ll have enough turning clearance with that GooseTech pin box?

Alan, with your long-bed F-350, you’ll be in excellent shape. The GooseTech # MR97MV keeps the same geometry as your original Lippert 1621, so turning clearance won’t change from your fifth-wheel setup. If you were towing with a short bed, I’d suggest an offset ball for extra room, but your long bed won’t need it. Just be sure to include the safety chains # GY49GR with the conversion - they’re required for any gooseneck-style connection.
