Do Dexter ABS Brakes Have Smoother Braking Than Standard Electric Brakes On RVs?

Question:
I’ve heard the 3.5K ABS brakes have smoother braking than standard Dexter brakes. Is that true?

Good question, Shelby. Under normal braking, the Dexter 3.5K ABS Tow Assist brakes # DX73WR will feel the same as standard electric brakes. The Tow Assist system only steps in when it detects wheel slip or sway, adjusting brake force momentarily to help the trailer stay straight and stable. Otherwise, they operate like any other electric drum brake.
Are you replacing the brakes on an existing Tow Assist trailer, or just trying to confirm what’s already installed?
Anyone else here notice when the ABS activates on your trailer?
