Can Grade 5 Bolts of Roadmaster Base Plate Kit Get Replaced with Grade 5
Updated 10/30/2025 | Published 10/11/2025 >
Question:
Greetings, I have installed a Roadmaster direct kit base kit. I over torqued the bolts and would like to replace them. The bolts supplied ar grade 5 bolts. Can I use a grade 8 bolt for added safety or is there some other reason these should not be used? Thanks

Hey Charles, there's no reason you couldn't use Grade 8 bolts instead of the Grade 5 that Roadmaster supplies. The bolts would just be a bit stronger without any downside.
