Replacing Dometic Penguin I with Penguin II, What is Needed

Question:

I have 2 Dometic Old Penguin 630515.321 ACs. I cant get Dometic 3108706.924 Motor. How do I replace the front and connect both to the same Thermostat?

Hey Hawk, so the Penguin II like the part # DMC86ZR that you referenced can attach to the air box you have now from your Penguin I but the thermostats are not the same so what you would need to do is upgrade the control module with the part # DMC25RR and this would allow you to control the new unit with the older style thermostat.

Thanks for your reply. I've seen that there is a alternative control box needed for a new Penguin II to convert it to operate on the older Thermostat so I can run both the old one and the new one without changing Thermostats. I'd have to set appropriate dip switches too. What choices do I have?

@Hawk Oh nice. I looked and didn't see anything like that but is what you saw swapping in the CCC1 board into the Penguin II?

@JamesonC.: This is what I found.: To make the new Penguin II work with your 5 button, you will have to install a (CCC) 5 button control board 3311557.000 located under the shroud. On the other hand if you want to update to the 12 button thermostat (CCC2), you will have to change the control boards on all units controlled by the 12 button thermostat. Tom Cherry: Product Description: 3313107.107 Converts the new ducted air conditioners with built in CCC2 12 Button thermostat controls back to the CCC five button thermostat or to upgrade from a CCC4 button to the CCC5 button (3109228.001 and 3109228.019) Use when you are replacing an air conditioner that is connected to a thermostat with more than one a/c attached. New thermistor and upgrade instructions included.

@Hawk We actually have the 3313107.107 with our part number # DMC25RR so you could use it with the above mentioned Penguin II to allow it to be controlled by your current thermostat setup.
