Troubleshooting Furrion Chill Cube Fan Touching Foam Interior and Being Noisy

Updated 10/21/2025 | Published 10/06/2025

Question:

I purchased From you and installed a Furion chill cube in an Airstream trailer. I have the A/C unit working but the internal squirrel fan is touching the hard foam interior and is noisy and it gets worse when the fan spins faster Furion has been little to no help and requested that I take additional videos from the top makes no sense I did that and the top looks to be 100 perfect. Can you help get *some* support from furion? I have a couple of videos but your system only accepts pictures.

Hey Geoff, thanks for reaching out!

I was able to hear back from my contact at Furrion and this is what they sent me:

"Thank you for contacting Lippert! Typically, adjusting the fan and tightening it resolves this concern you speak of. We would recommend doing this first and foremost. If that adjustment does not resolve the concern we can move forward with claims processing as a fan/ motor replacement may need to be the next step."

If adjusting and tightening the fan doesn't work, let me know and I can reach back out to my contact at Furrion to see how they would like to go about the claims process with you.

It is unclear how to adjust the motor and it is covered by the foam that is impacting it. The only bolts that are clearly accessible are the mounting bolts that are vertically holding the unit to the trailer.

@GeoffC To gain access to the fan you'll need to get on the roof and remove the shroud. There are some bolts at the front of the shroud that have to be removed to take the shroud off. I haven't taken this AC apart, but if you jump to the 2:40 minute mark on the YouTube video I'm taking below you'll see how to remove stuff from the top to gain access to the fan - https://youtu.be/5Ee01OMwYP8?si=XAbvjTKcS_UxBtQ_
