Question:
Looking for advise on installing solar on my RV. We have a 2020 Grand Design Momentum 397th and thinking about using 6 200 watt panels for 1200 watts total. Need advise on best method like serial vs. parallel and size of solar controller. I currently have 6 100 AH Battle Born batteries and a Victron Multiplus 3000 watt inverter.

Thanks, for the information Dave! For a RV setup you're going to want to run your solar panels in parallel. Unless you're exclusively camping in the desert you're going to have to worry about partial or intermittent shading on some panels, If you run the panels in series one cloudy panel will slow down the entire system. The shorter wiring runs with RVs are also better for parallel setups.
The Go Power Solar AE-6 All Electric System with 3 MPPT Solar Controllers item # 342-75011 has everything you need. It comes with six 200 watt solar panels, three 30-amp MPPT Solar Controllers, and all wiring, wiring connectors, and mounting hardware you'll need. It also includes a Bluetooth capable remote that lets you adjust the controller's settings along with monitoring charging current, battery voltage, and battery state of charge.
I have attached a diagram showing you how to setup the item # 342-75011 system.

Thank you Jerred. We live in Northern Arizona so most of our camping involves trees. I heard Renogy came out with a new solar panel that resist partial shade issues. I think they are called the "ShadowFlux" panels. Do you guys offer these or something similar? Thanks for the diagram. It appears this is going with 2) 200 W panels in series X3 then those strings are connected in parallel. Is this more efficient than doing 3) 200 W panels in series X2 then connected in parallel? Although my volts would be higher this would allow me to go with 2 solar converters rather than 3. Thanks again for your help. Dave
