Does the WS89WR stick out farther from the truck compared to the 6 inch drop WS64WR?

No, Henry, both the Weigh Safe Pintle Hitches # WS89WR (up to 8" drop) and # WS64WR (up to 6" drop) use the same heavy-duty shank length. The difference is only vertical adjustment 8 inch vs. 6 inch drop. So you won’t gain extra leverage or lose clearance behind the truck. These both fit 3" trailer hitch receivers, so make sure that's the size you have.
One thing to note is that you can easily remove the ball mount from the shank so it doesn't stick out far when not towing.
Do you need the extra drop because of a lifted truck, or is the trailer just abnormally low?
