If Watchdog Surge Protector Blows Or Uses Up The Module, Does Entire Unit Need Replaced?

Question:

We bought the HU84ZR last season for our Cougar 30 amp trailer. If the surge board ever blows, do I need a whole new unit or is there a replacement?

Good forward thinking, Don. You won’t need to replace the whole Watchdog Surge Protector / Voltage Booster # HU84ZR. It uses the replacement surge module # HU57ZR, which you can swap yourself in a few minutes. The Bulldog face will glow red and show an error code E9 when the board has done its job and needs replacing. Hughes even covers one free module within the first two years.

Would you want to keep a spare on hand, or just order one if it ever trips? I recommend grabbing an extra in case you ever need it as it would be cheap insurance.
