How To Choose Between Yoke Style or Flat Lip Style Coupler Lock From ICON Locks

Question:

Why would someone pick the AL33DQ yoke-style instead of the AL26DQ flat-lip 2? Aren’t both 2inch couplers?

Dan, it’s all about the latch design. The ICON # AL33DQ is shaped for yoke-style couplers which have a latch that pivots on a pin that goes through the coupler and latch, while the # AL26DQ is for flat-lip couplers which are exactly as it sounds - they have a bigger flat lip around the coupler where the ball sits. Both have the same radial fins and anti-drill lock core, so security is identical. It just depends on the shape.
