Updated 09/16/2025 | Published 09/05/2025

Question:

I am looking to convert my 16k Texas pride lowboy trailer to disc brakes. Im not sure which kit will fit my tandem 8k axles since they are an in-house axle.

Hi Cw; sorry for the delay on this one we are behind. If you can tell me what kind of spindle you have on those axles, or just tell me the bearing and grease seal part numbers, I can find the right disc brakes for the trailer.

The rear seal is TC 54 85.6 10 I do not see a part number on the bearing. The hub is 12x2. It's a copy of the ez lube.

@Cw so that is equivalent to a 10-10 grease seal # RG06-090. I'm sure the DeeMaxx Disc Brakes # DE88AR will fit but you'll have to swap out the seals. Double check and made sure your bearing inner diameters are 1.25" and 1.75". The brakes are designed to fit a #42 spindle which is common for an 8k axle. Do you have hydraulic brakes now or electric? Are you wanting surge or electric over hydraulic?

@RobinH can I get that with a 9/16" stud?
