What info Is Needed to Convert Furrion Chill from Ceiling to Wall Thermostat

Updated 11/06/2025 | Published 09/01/2025

Question:

Hello, I have a 2025 Grand Design Transcend 151 bh with a non ducted Furion ac unit. I am looking into what I need to convert it to a wall mount thermostat controlled vs the current knobs on the ceiling unit. The way it is now the ac will turn on and off as needed but the fan blows continuously. Also is there anything product that will decrease the noise level? It is so loud! Thank you.

Hey Nate, to convert your Furrion Chill AC unit from a ceiling mount thermostat you will need a new thermostat and also a new air distribution box. But to pick that out I would need to know which specific Furrion unit you have. It sounds like it is a Chill HE but it is important to know what year it was made as there was a change in the refrigerant requirements that started in January of 2025.

Hey Nate, did you have a chance to find out which specific Furrion unit you have and its manufacturing year? I'm asking because it could help others looking to make similar upgrades to their AC systems.

Hi James I was wondering if you could potentially assist me in the same modification? I have an Eddie Bauer 17RBL with the roof controlled 9000 BTU Furion chill. It's either blowing cold or the fan is blowing humid air making my RV extremely humid sometimes 80% or more. I'd like to modify the controls so that it will either be on with the compressor running or just shut off.

@CordP I wish we could help with that but we don't have a recommended way that Furrion would allow the unit to work like you are requesting. Maybe an HVAC guy could modify it but that's not something we have info on.
