Why Does OEM Hitch for 2022 Genesis GV80 have Different Capacity than Curt

Question:
I have a 2022 gv80. I noticed your tongue wait is 600lbs butter OEM unit has a 900lb tongue weight. Why the disparity of a significant 300lbs? Do you offer a 900lbs version?

Hey Britt, so not all hitch manufacturers will have the same weight capacity for the same vehicle. They all design their hitches independently and then rate them and sometimes the numbers vary. 900 lbs of tongue weight is quite a bit for a vehicle like the 2022 Genesis GV80 so even if the hitch was rated for it I would assume the vehicle wouldn't be. You can check this in your owners manual.
