Are New Lippert ABS Brake Assemblies Bonded Or Riveted To The Mounting Plate?

Published 08/12/2025

Question:

Is the brake lining bonded or riveted? I’ve had issues with cracked shoes in the past.

Great attention to detail, Jerry. These Lippert ABS 10" 3,500lb brakes # LC73PX use fully bonded friction linings, not rivets. That means you get more contact area and less chance of cracking or crumbling, especially helpful if you tow often or in rough terrain. Plus, the edges are tapered and circular-ground to reduce stress and improve braking torque.

If you’ve had issues with lockup or uneven wear, these are a solid option. I've heard great things about the new Lippert Anti Lock Braking Systems on these newer trailers, and I know you'll see a huge improvement in panic braking and just overall handling compared to trailers that didn't come with the Lippert ABS from the factory.

What type of trailer is this going on, Jerry?
