How Should My Shackle Straps Look After Installing the ALLTREK 4000 Equalizers?
Updated 09/02/2025 | Published 08/10/2025 >
Question:
Installed the morryde 4000 alltrek, the e88sr 26 inch springs, new u bolts and the morryde 2-1/4 shackle upgrade kit. The shackles are leaning toward the centerlink with approxamitly 1/2 inch clearance to the morryde 4000 alltrek and closer to the parts that sticks out like bump stop or something at top of morryde . Tires are closer together as well but not a problem . Just concered about where the shackles ended up. Thoughts?

Hello Ric,
If there were only a real standard when it came to trailer suspension, things would be a little simpler. I wish you had submitted a picture so I could take a closer look at the shackles.
I’ve attached an image of an install we did here at etrailer for the MORryde ALLTREK 4000 #MR89DR, so you can see how the shackles are facing. Sometimes, it requires us to go with a shorter or longer leaf spring to get the placement just right.
Additionally, I’ve attached a diagram of tandem axle suspension to show exactly how it all lays out.
If you’re still unsure, please feel free to reply directly to this email with pictures of your tandem axle setup so I can take a look at all the suspension components.
