What is the Difference Between the Jensen JWM60A and the JWM62A RV Stereos?

Question:

What’s the difference between the JWM60A and the JWM62A? I have a 2001 Forrest river trail-lite bantam b23. I’m looking to replace a memorex cd-1000 I believe.

Hey Aaron, thanks for reaching out!

The JWM60A was discontinued a while ago and replaced by the JWM62A. I've looked into this before and basically the 60A had a few issues with it and so Jensen fixed the issues and rebranded it as the 62A.

The confusing part on our end is that our part # JWM60A is actually the 62A so you'd be getting the newer model. Not sure why we didn't update the part number, but I guess it is what it is at this point.

Did your old unit go out, or are you just looking for an upgrade?

Hey Aaron, did you decide to go with the JWM62A for your Forrest River Trail-Lite? I'm curious if it resolved the issues you were having with the Memorex CD-1000, as it might help others in a similar situation.

@JonG Yes I did. It’s a lot nicer stereo than my trailer needs but options were slim. It was quite a bit larger than the Memorex CD-1000. I ended up deciding to use a router to make the hole wider and taller. I had to make my hole a 1/2” taller and 1/8” wider on each side. I really wish they had cut out dimensions listed on products like this, it would make the decision process easier. I haven’t explored too many features. The Bluetooth and digital channel display is what made me want to get a new stereo. The close proximity of this one’s size to my old one is what sold me on this one. One thing I don’t like too much is that there is no seek button. If you press and hold the button to change the channel it will seek but it stops at the next station and you have to repeat the process. It makes it difficult when you are trying to get to a channel that is further away. Being able to have presets does make it a little easier. So far we have been used it to listen to the radio, Bluetooth, and plugging the TV into the Aux port. I don’t know anything about car audio but booking it up was a breeze. Power, antenna, and speakers. The E-trailer “reviews” that you guys do is more like a demo and it is far more information than the manufacturer provide. I appreciate it a lot. I would add a picture but I don’t see the option.

@Aaron Thanks for all of the feedback! I have a vehicle with the same style of "seek" for the radio and I'm not much of a fan of it either. I'm glad you were able to install the new stereo fairly easily!
