Great question, Chloe. The Crosstrack does tilt down, even with bikes loaded, but on taller vans like the Sprinter, door clearance can vary. If you're using the 2-bike version # HLY38RR or # HLY48RR, it will not clear the barn doors on the Sprinter. These are more designed to give access to a trunk of an SUV or sometimes truck bed.
Instead, I'd recommend the RockyMounts BackStage 2 Bike Rack # RKY10002. This has a swing-away feature that gives access to the barn doors on your Sprinter van.
