How Many Amps Does 48V Velit 2000R Mini RV AC w/ Remote Use?

Updated 08/06/2025 | Published 08/02/2025

Question:

I dont really get the ac power consumption. when i do the math it looks like at max power your AC unit draws at 55.8 amperes, if thats correct than it would drain 1AH per minute which is insane. How long can your velit 2000r mini run at max off of 4AH. 5AH?

Hello!

I'm still a little confused about the 48V myself, but the Velit 2000R Mini RV AC w/ Remote # VE79QV will draw 5-14 amps depending on what power setting you're using. To find the amp rating you'll need to divide Watts by Volts which is why it's much lower.

How big of a battery bank do you have?

@Customer So to get the amount of amp hours used you'll need to multiply the amp rating of the AC unit by how many hours you want to use it. For example, the Velit AC will draw 5 amps on the low end so with a 5Ah battery bank you'd get 1 hour of use. So you'll either need to get a MUCH bigger battery bank, or just be sure you're pulling power from the battery bank when you're plugged up to shore power.

@JonG Oh! It's 400ah, not 4.

@Tw That makes a huge difference haha So in the eco setting (at 5 amps) you'd be able to run the AC for 80 hours - granted it's the only thing pulling power from that bank.
