Will Timbren Axle-Less Kit Fit in Place of Torsion Axle on 2018 Winnie WD170S

Question:
Greetings. I have a 2018 Winnie WD170S, single 3500lbs torsion axle pic of label attached. Per label 3800 GVWR. Tires upgraded to: ST205/75R14 load D. The torsion axle is shot. My tires are wearing badly on the inside terrible negative camber. I would like to update to s 5200lbs capacity and was considering the TASR5200S05 axle-less, but noticed that the distance from the mount plate essentiall the trailers outer frame to the hub face where the wheel would set against the hub is only 6-1/4 inches. The tires on this unit run on the outside of the trailer body, under a fender. On the current setup, the distance from outer frame to hub face is right at 12 inches and the tire clearance from the outside wall of the trailer is at best .5 to .75 inches 1-1.25 inches without the negative camber. So, 6.25 inches is far too short. To use the axle-less system, I would have to build up the frame on the outside quite a bit - but would that even be feasible or safe? Do they make longer spindles for the axle-less system? What are my options?

Hey Rob, thanks for reaching out!
The Timbren kits are designed more around the standard trailer setups, so since your Winnie uses the torsion axle the mounts to the frame further under the trailer, you're going to need to get the same type of axle for everything to line up properly.
Your best bet is going to be reaching out to a local trailer shop to see if they can custom order you a replacement torsion axle that matches your specs. You can even talk to them about upping the weight rating of the axle if you think it will help out with your performance.

Hey Rob, did you get a chance to talk to a local trailer shop about a custom torsion axle for your Winnie? I'm curious to know if they were able to help you find a solution that worked for your setup.
