Can The Pop & Lock PAL1310 Tailgate Handle Be Keyed To Vehicle Ignition Key?

Hi, I’m wondering if I can rekey the existing core with my ignition key for Item PAL1310? I’m looking to find a new tailgate Handel with a key core that can be rekeyed to the ignition key if possible. I have a 2011 GMC sierra 1500 SLT Thank you!

Hi Jesse!
This is something we have talked to Pop & Lock about, and unfortunately, the Pop & Lock Custom Locking Tailgate Handle - Manual - Black # PAL1310 cannot be keyed to an ignition key.
However, and I don't know why they do it this way, the Pop & Locking Tailgate Handle with Key Alike Lock Cylinder - Manual - Chrome # PAL1350C can be be keyed to lock with your ignition key. It uses a BOLT cylinder that allows for this. This only comes in a chrome finish though, so you would need to paint it black if that's the color you are wanting.
What happened to the original tailgate handle?
