Looking For Ball Mount With Large Rise For 3,200 lb Dry Weight Camper
Updated 08/15/2025 | Published 07/21/2025 >
Question:
I have a 3200 Dry weight camper trailer that would require a 6-8 inch riser with my class III hitch with 2-5/8” ball. All hitches I am finding can handle that weight for a hitch but with that much of a rise, they have have lower GTW of only 3500 or so. What do you suggest I use that can handle more weight with large rise?

Hello Julia, thanks for reaching out. Take a look at the Curt Ball Mount for 2" Hitches # C45338. This has a 7" rise and is rated for 10,000 lbs. Assuming your trailer uses a 2-5/16" ball you can use that with the # C40030 hitch ball.
Will the 7" rise work for you?

Hey Julia, did the Curt Ball Mount with the 7-inch rise work out for your camper trailer? I'm curious because it might help others in a similar situation.
