Question:
I have a Dico Model 10 hydraulic brake actuator on my boat trailer. I need to rebuild the brake master cylinder. What is the part number for the rebuild kit for this master cylinder?

Hello Keith,
We do not have a rebuild kit that includes all the parts together. For the Dico-style actuator, I was able to find part number 1018700 through a Google search, but there wasn’t much luck locating it in stock anywhere, which suggests it’s likely discontinued. The replacement parts we do offer are the Replacement Master Cylinder Cap with Diaphragm part # T4830601, Replacement Weather Seal part # T1055200, Top and Bottom Bearing part # T1020900.
I recommend replacing the entire master cylinder instead.
For your Dico Model 10 surge brake actuator, you’ll want one of the following:
For disc brakes: # T4749501042
For drum brakes: # T2374600
Were you able to track down one of those full rubber seals? What kind of boat do you have on that trailer? We just got our Ranger back a week ago after waiting a long 7 weeks for our new Yamaha motor to come in. At least now I don’t have to worry about it acting up during our next bass tournament!

Hey Keith, Did you end up replacing the entire master cylinder for your Dico Model 10 actuator, or were you able to find a rebuild kit? I’m curious because it could help others who might be in the same boat—no pun intended!
