Hello again, Joe!
If the 2025 GMC Acadia you are looking at has the factory towing package, from what I could find, there will be 4 wires wrapped up in a bunch of cables in a harness on the leftmost side of the driver's footwell. Remove the black tape and you find the 4 wires. It sounded like it was a pain to find it, so patience will be needed. I do have to admit that I couldn't find whether or not anything needed to be activated for the brake controller to function properly, so that will need to be a question for a GM dealer.
Did you have a brake controller picked out already? If not, here are a few good options to consider:
Economy:
Tekonsha Voyager Trailer Brake Controller w/ Harness # TK29ER
Mid:
Redarc Tow-Pro Liberty Brake Controller - Dash Knob # RED24FR (will need the # RED69FR pigtail)
Premium:
Tekonsha Prodigy P3 Trailer Brake Controller w/ Harness # 90195
With the pigtail, the Redarc will technically be the most expensive, but it will also handle the least amount of axles (up to 2 whereas both Tekonsha options can handle up to 4). With that said, it is still the one I would go with. I'm 6'5" and I tend to smack the brake controllers that mount underneath the dash area. The Redarc would require a hole to be drilled for the post the knob goes on, but I think it is the best option.
