How Secure Is The Thule RodVault 2 Fly Rod Holder?

Question:
How secure is the lock system? It’s very solid. Carrie in Cape May installed a RodVault 2 on her 2019 RAV4 and said she felt totally comfortable locking up her 5wt and 8wt overnight at a motel near the beach. The mounting clamps and reel box are keyed alike and tamper-resistant. For peace of mind on long trips, it’s one of the most secure fishing rod carriers out there.

I have heard nothing but good things about the Thule RodVault line, like the 2 rod # TH34FR23YR, and am glad to hear this was a good experience as well. I have a couple old Pflueger reels and bamboo rods I inherited from my grandpa that I want to try out and it's good to know I can keep them safe on the road with something! With it fitting most roof racks is also a plus. : )
