Do You Have a Riser for My Thule Bike Rack for 1 1/4" Receiver to Gain More Clearance?

Updated 09/02/2025 | Published 06/30/2025

Question:

I’m looking to raise up my bike rack from a 1.25 in hitch as the bikes ride a bit low on the back of my car. Can you recommend a product - I have a Thule bike rack.

Hello Michael,

We only have a riser that goes from a 1 1/4" hitch to a 2", so you will need to use the Trailer Hitch Adapter - 1-1/4" to 2" Hitch - 4-1/2" Drop/5" Rise - 6-1/2" L # e93YR with a reducer, the Trailer Hitch Reducer 2" to 1-1/4" Trailer Hitch Receiver # e63YR. I would like to point out that the # e93YR will cut your tongue weight in half.

Or you could get the Combo Bar 6" with 1-1/4" Trailer Hitch Receiver # E-911 and have a local fabricator weld you together a rise.

Do you have a specific trail that you like to take your bike out on? We have the Katy Trail here in Missouri and it is always loaded with bikes!

Hey Michael, Did you get a chance to try out the hitch adapter and reducer for your Thule bike rack? I'm curious to know if it helped raise your bikes and how it worked out for you. Let me know if you need further assistance!
