Can Trailer with V-Nose Use Weight Distribution System
Updated 07/07/2025 | Published 06/25/2025 >
Question:
I need to purchase weight distribution hitch however the bracket that will go on tongue and slide back towards trailer won’t fit because tongue of trailer is to short. Top of bracket hits the V nose portion of trailer prevents it from going farther back. Was told your company has a solution for this, bracket minus the top that would bolt into tongue frame? This would allow bracket to move farther back. Can you help?

Hey Robert, so we do have a solution with bolt on brackets like the Reese part # RP58305 for if you go with a Reese kit that uses chains. Do you know what the tongue weight of your trailer is? With that info we can pick out the correct system.

Unfortunately I do not know tongue weight. It’s a 6 x 12 cargo trailer with about 4600 pounds when loaded and 1800 empty. Not sure where to get the exact tongue weight
